Shakana Onyinah's Artwork

"This is a piece of artwork that I finished around December. This is a painting of my sister, which took at least a whole month to finish and produce. I used acrylic paint to make this and made sure that I infused a lot of different colours in it. This painting is a reflection of African identity. I feel as though that black people are under represented in art work all over the world. So I decided to paint my sister, a close family member of mine and make it into a meaningful piece of art. This took a lot of prep art and time and thought and this was the final outcome."
